Katie Kelly OAM

Katie Kelly OAM has been appointed as an Inclusion Alliance ambassador. Katie is a Paralympic gold medallist (Rio 2016) in the sport of Para-triathlon, 2x Paralympian (2016, 2020) and 2x World Champion (2015, 2017).

Katie’s lived experience of having Usher Syndrome which results in gradual loss of hearing and eyesight, as well her professional career in marketing and sports, gives her a unique insight and perspective on sharing knowledge on how organisations can achieve best practices of inclusiveness and diversity in their communities.

Katie is passionate about promoting inclusiveness for Australians living with a disability. She is the founder of Sport Access Foundation, which aims to improve access for young Australians with a disability access to sport by providing sporting grants to improve their participation in sport. Katie has also worked with a number of inclusive sporting organisations including Blind Cricket Australia, the Australian Deaflympic Team, as well as initiating professional fun runs in regional NSW and was involved in setting up the Darwin Parkrun. Katie is also on the board of Deaf Sports Australia and is an Ambassador for Next Sense (formerly Royal Deaf Blind Institute for Children) and advocate of Usher Kids Australia.
