IPC updates Classification Fundamentals online course

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has released an updated version of its Classification Fundamentals online course, providing a comprehensive introduction to classification in Para sport.
The self-paced course has been refreshed to align with the 2025 Classification Code, which came into effect for summer sports in January 2025 and winter sports in July 2026. It includes updated learning modules, interactive knowledge checks, a glossary of key classification terms, and new illustrations designed to improve understanding of eligible impairments and sport classes.
The IPC has also introduced a certified version of the course to further support IPC members and selected stakeholder groups. Additional classification education resources are also being developed for athletes, classifiers and others involved in the Paralympic Movement.
The course is suitable for anyone looking to build their understanding of classification, including athletes, coaches, support workers, sport administrators and those involved in inclusive sport and recreation.
