All Abilities Week returns this October

  • Industry News
Seven people, including a wheelchair user, pose on a blue tennis court at Kia Arena in Melbourne. They hold tennis racquets and balls, with three trophies displayed among the group. Rows of blue stadium seats fill the background.

Tennis Australia’s All Abilities Week, presented by Bupa, will return from 19–25 October 2026, with its largest national program creating more opportunities for people with disability to experience tennis.

The week celebrates disability inclusion both on and off the court, bringing clubs, coaches and communities together to help more Australians get involved in the sport.

This year, 65 clubs, coaching businesses, venues, disability hubs and community organisations across Australia will deliver inclusive tennis activities. Five padel venues will also participate for the first time, expanding the opportunities available to try a new sport.

The program will showcase five established pathways: wheelchair tennis, blind and low vision tennis, intellectual disability and autism tennis, deaf and hard of hearing tennis, and para-standing tennis. Activities will give participants the chance to try tennis, connect with their local community and explore opportunities to continue playing.

Participation will extend beyond the week, with funded organisations required to deliver at least four follow-up sessions. These sessions will help participants develop their skills, build confidence and maintain their connection with tennis.

Whether trying tennis for the first time or returning to the court, people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to get involved.
